Dr Ien Chan is a consultant dermatologist at St Mary's Hospital, part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He trained at St John's Institute of Dermatology, St Mary's Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. He spent 2 years researching the role of extracellular matrix protein 1 (ECM1) in human skin in the Genetic Skin Disease Group, King's College London, which led to the award of a MD research degree from the University of London. Dr Chan has numerous publications in high impact factor journals and has presented his research at numerous dermatological and scientific national and international meetings.
Other areas of special interest include acne, psoriasis and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
